The King's Road

Come wander along the old King's Road in the footsteps of some of our country's most interesting characters, while experiencing a visual timeline of architecture and history that spans more than a century, witnessing revolutions, evolutions, executions, and exaltations.

The tour begins overlooking the Savannah River where the frigate Anne landed with General James Oglethorpe and the original 120 colonists.  From that location, we head south down the King's Road, passing through beautiful Johnson, Wright, Chippewa, and Madison Squares observing monuments and architecture along the way.

We will end the tour just south of Madison Square at the intersection of Jones Street and Bull Street.  If you decide you want to finish the tour off with the best traditional southern food experience in Savannah, you have the option to join us for lunch at the famous Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room.  The restaurant is open Monday through Friday only, Mid February through December, and your meal, if you decide to join us, is not included in the price of the tour.
